What is Hypnotherapy?  Will you take over my mind?  Will you make me bark like a dog?

No, this is not stage hypnotherapy.  There's a vast difference between a stage hypnotist and a hypnotherapist that works therapeutically. 

Hypnosis is a natural state that we all experience at various times and depths throughout the day.  It's similar to daydreaming when you're not not fully alert but not fully asleep.  It's a state of focused relaxation where your mind is more responsive to therapeutic suggestion which helps to change your undesired thought patterns.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is very much a partnership between me and you, and this partnership is very important because change happens because you want it to and because you're prepared to take the steps needed to work towards your goals.  We don't focus on or analyse your past or problems, and don't relive trauma.  We focus on what you want for the future.  Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines Psychotherapy where we talk together about your goals for the future and hypnotherapy where beneficial suggestions are directed towards your subconscious mind.  Clients often comment on how relaxed and wonderful they feel after hypnotherapy!

So, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can work quickly unlike other forms of therapy.  It's also very versatile and can be used for a wide range of issues such as anxiety and stress, exam stress, pain management, phobias, sleep issues, weight loss, stopping smoking and vaping to supporting women with menopause issues.
